Recent thoughts ...
I've been doing a lot of thinking lately ... about priorities, my supposed list of 'lots to do' and my responsibilities as a wife and mother. My husband says it seems like I'm trying to find myself ... trying to find my purpose in life ... maybe ... but I think it really has to do with simplifying ... figuring out what is most important and applying that to everyday, then getting rid of the unimportant stuff that seems to crowd in.
Anyway ... been thinking about my blog too ... it's been fun posting thoughts, opinions, resources, articles, etc, etc ... but it has become almost like a job. In fact, I was thinking the other day about how I always make sure my posts are done and if I need to work on a post, that is the first thing that gets crossed off my to-do list ... instead of the many other more profitable things I have to do. This wasn't my intent in the beginning. Guess maybe in my effort to start out with a bang, I bit off more than I could chew (figuratively, of course
) ... was doing everything I could to keep up ... and now have come to a place where I need to make a choice ...
What are my goals ... what is my purpose ... what is most important and what needs to be gotten rid of?? Does everything I have to do fit within my purpose, goals and what is most important to me???
So ... I've decided to back off blogging for awhile ... I'll probably post things here and there, but it won't be an everyday thing like it has been. Have to say ... this definitely takes a load off my mind
And, with that ...
Thanks for being such great readers ... have a blessed Easter this weekend ... enjoy the holiday with your friends and family!!
Another Monday ...
Another Monday ... another week ahead of us ... here's some cartoons that will hopefully bring a grin to your face and a little incentive to get back on your journey to optimal health ... enjoy

Thank you ...
Today marks exactly 3 months that I have been blogging about my journey to optimal health ... 12 weeks are gone and many more are still to come. As I sit here and write this post, there are 6556 hits on the website at this very moment ... and that will probably change within the hour. But that number just amazes me ... that's an average of nearly 2200 hits per month ... incredible!!!
So, to those of you who regularly read my blog, I want to send a big, heartfelt 'thank you' to you ... thank you also to those who read occasionally when I post something 'interesting'
And, if you have passed along my website to any of your friends and family ... thank you, thank you once again. You all are what makes my blog successful ... because, if I didn't have readers, I wouldn't have anyone to write for ...
As a reminder, if you'd prefer to receive blog updates by email or RSS feed, feel free to sign up for those updates here on the home page ... you can also follow me on Facebook or Twitter (buttons located at upper right of home page) ... I post updates on those resources too.
And, lastly ... don't forget to check out the new 'New Way New You' tab at the very top ... here you'll find loads of information about the weight management program I have been using, along with medical research articles, success stories and and overview of the plan itself. Then, don't forget to keep checking back for the 'community' feature we will be launching in just a couple weeks ... there you'll be able to meet and correspond with others who are working towards optimal health as well ... it'll be super exciting!!!
Well, hope you're week is as splendid as I know mine will be ... best wishes as you continue your journey ... and don't forget to leave me feedback or ideas through the 'contact me' tab at the top ... another new feature
Mirthful Monday
Here's a few new cartoons I found ... hope the chuckles that ensue give a great start to your week =) ... and yes, I used a not-often-used word, 'mirthful', in my title ... I was pleasantly surprised at it's meaning when I looked it up ... gonna have to employ that delightful word a little more frequently ... Happy Monday!!!

Rest
Been thinking a lot about rest these last few days ... my hubby and I are headed out of town for 4 days ... just us ... to rest, relax and refresh. It's been 7.5 years Jon and I have taken a 'just us' vacation ... our newly-married life together started off with gusto and adding kids to the mix a short 2 years later sped things up even more. Amazingly, life has a way of becoming all-consuming and super busy ... the old adage 'life gets faster with every passing year' is so true ... and we don't take enough to slow down and just chill. So, I'm EXCITED to be spending some down time with the love of my life
Anyway, I think we all need to have times of relaxation and rest ... even from exercise ... otherwise we start going crazy and making those around us crazy. Whatever that means for you ... a couple days away with your spouse, a leisurely trip to the park, taking time for a pedicure, etc, etc ... try to find the time for relaxation moments in your schedule ... your kids will thank you, your spouse with thank you and your body will thank you too ... 'cause sometimes your body just needs a break to energize itself for the next goal on your journey to optimal health.
