Plank exercises are WONDERFUL for shaping and toning your core ... I used to do planks all the time in college ... you should've seen my abs back then!!!! Well, I'm back at it doing plank exercises ... along with a couple other core exercises ... I AM gonna have great abs again, dog gone it Tongue out

Anyway, here again is Diane from 4321fitness.com, showing us the classic elbow plank and then a variation -- a hand plank. Start assuming the pose Diane explains, then do your best to hold that pose for at least 30 seconds ... the goal is work towards holding the pose for 1 full minute or more. Also, be sure to pay attention to Diane's suggestions for what to do if you feel strain while performing a plank exercise ... a tip I didn't even know.
