Is Interval Training Really Effective??
I LOVE INTERVAL TRAINING ... it kicks my butt every time, but I love it!!!! My favorite is Sean Foy's 10 Minute Total Body Breakthrough exercise plan ... it is the LONGEST 10 minutes of my life, and many times I'm a little sore afterward, but it's the best workout I have ever experienced ... and I've tried pretty much everything
Of course, seeing as how Sean Foy's program is only 10 minutes, well, that was a seller for me too ... I just don't have 60 minutes a day to spend exercising, and most days 30 minutes isn't an option either ... if your excuse is 'there's not enough time in my day to exercise', then this program takes away all excuses. Everyone has 10 minutes available somewhere to give to your physical health.
The positive benefits of interval training are many ... but, the main 3 benefits are: improved endurance, cardiovascular function and increased metabolic rate ... all of these are essential to an effective weight-loss program
I think one of the most exciting things about interval training is ... well, there are two exciting things ... 1) is that interval training is helpful to a new exerciser, a regular exerciser and to those whom exercising is a career of sorts ... in studies that have been done, experienced athletes improved endurance, cardio function & metabolic rates over and above their existing levels. It's just amazing that athletes, already in top physical shape, can excel even more!!!
And, the 2nd most exciting thing: it has been shown that the physical effects of interval training can show up within in just a few weeks of starting ... you did read that right ... the physical benefits can appear in just weeks, NOT MONTHS, after starting an interval training program. That means that instead of working out 60 minutes a day for several months, you only have to work out during a fraction of the time (10-30min./day) for a short time period before seeing results. That's AWESOME to me ... and hopefully encouraging to those of you just starting on your journey!!!
Here's a short video showing Sean Foy explaining his 4321 program and some of it's benefits ... enjoy
